Explore the Lakeland

Whether you book campgrounds ahead of time, or load up and head to a secret spot, here are ideas for places to set up your camping oasis, whatever that looks like for your family. There are more than 60 front-country provincial campgrounds alone in Northern Alberta. The following represents only a few in or near the Lakeland and includes private, municipal and national park campgrounds. Access a great mapping tool for more options on the Alberta Parks site.

Cold Lake Provincial Park has 117 sites at Lund’s Point for every camper, with power, power/water hookups or walk-in tenting. While you are here, explore the 9 km of formal trails by foot or mountain bike. Stroll along the lakeshore to see birds or catch a glimpse of other resident wildlife. Relax on the beach until the end of the day to treat yourself to a spectacular northern sunset.
